“ Return
With All Your Heart”
Evening Lenten retreat

Return With All Your Heart
In
undertaking a spiritual life, what matters is simple:
we must make certain that our path is connected with
our heart…
- Jack Kornfield
Lent
is a time of re-turning to what gives our spiritual life
meaning, energy and vitality. On this day dedicated
to love and friendship, retreatants are invited to deepen
and expand their relationship with the Great Love, an
enduring presence of faithfulness. Human hearts can easily
become
empty or lost in the busyness and concerns of daily life.
This retreat extends an invitation to re-enter the heart
of the Gospel and one’s own heart. It is a time
to rediscover the treasures that lie within and to empty
out
the clutter that has collected there. Retreat evening includes opening and closing rituals, conferences
by Joyce Rupp, quiet reflection time and small group dialogue.

The
flow of the seasons pulses through both our inner and
outer lives, moving in a circular process of life-death
-life. Every step in the circle of life is an invitation
to grow. Each of these movements calls us repeatedly
to enter into and accept the seasonal periods of our
lives. As we journey through these patterns of the
year and of the heart, each step offers us a graced
opportunity for further development and maturity.

2: Walk
in a Relaxed Manner: Life Lessons on the Camino
Life
is always offering graced teachings for our growth
if we are awake and listening. In Joyce Rupp’s
pilgrimage of walking 450 miles across northern Spain,
she discovered many significant lessons that now guide
her life. Among the lessons she will share there is
the central one of learning how not to push and hurry
so much in life. Her life lessons on the Camino will
re-energize and re-orient your own life and ministry.

Embracing the Paschal Mystery
Each of us experiences the journey of life-death-life. This process, a mirror of the paschal mystery of Christ, is at the heart of our own spiritual transformation. How do we embrace the dying parts of this cycle that precede promised growth? How do we enter into the darkness, trust in the unfolding of newness, and keep hope in times of discouragement and distress? Who and what holds and supports us until we emerge from the chrysalis of darkness into ever fuller liberating light? As Joyce Rupp facilitates this Lenten retreat day she will reflect on these questions. Through creative rituals, conferences, quiet reflective times and group dialogue she will encourage participants to enter into the heart of the paschal mystery with confidence.

Keynote Address
| Spirituality
Made Real: Lessons for Inner Strength in Difficult Times
Both professionally and personally, catechetical leaders continually experience the interior four seasons. What do we do when autumn and winter take up extensive residence in our hearts and lives? How do we attend to these unwanted transitions that occur within parish and catechetical staffs, as well as in one’s own family and friends? Joyce Rupp will offer information, inspiration, and practical suggestions for strength and growth when experiencing unwanted seasonal struggles. Her newest book on the inner journey through the four seasons will be the catalyst for this keynote address. She will include story, questions for reflection and dialogue, along with song and body movement, as she invites participants to step into the seasons of their hearts.

| The Gift of Compassion
Compassion, the central message of Jesus and the key quality
of his mother, Mary, is also an essential element of many
other religious traditions. A deeper and clearer look at
compassion can teach and inspire us to accompany the hurting
ones of our own lives and our world with loving kindness.
Compassion also teaches us how to give ourselves understanding
and kindness when we are in the midst of pain and struggle.
Joyce Rupp will offer a view of compassion from Christianity
as well as other varied spiritual and literary sources and
her own personal life experience. She will also give suggestions
for how to live and to pray in a compassionate way.
Includes conferences, reflection times,
dialogue, ritual. Provides both inspiration and encouragement
for those who
journey. Offers hope and comfort to those who are hurting.
Aims to spiritually re-energize those who accompany others

Seasons of Our Lives
The
Circle of Life
Spring,
summer, autumn and winter are a dynamic circle of life-death-life.
The characteristics of each of these external seasons
are mirrored in our soul’s seasonal journey as
well. Each season is filled with marvelous secrets and
amazing discoveries that can bring greater awareness
and a deepened capacity for spiritual growth. These four
seasons encourage us to enter into the patterns of dying
and rising that are inherent in our process of spiritual
transformation. The more we enter into the dynamism of
the four seasons the more meaning and inspiration we
can find for our life’s journey. Religious educators
will be encouraged to see these four seasons in their
own lives as well as in the lives of those with whom
they minister.

An Advent retreat
Open
the Door: An Advent Retreat
"O Key of David, opening the gates

Antiphon for December 20)
Each of us has a Sacred Door which allows
us entrance into the dwelling place of the Divine. This

season. During this retreat we will open the door of
our heart inward in order to look within our deepest
self, to discover the treasures abiding there. We will
also open the door of our heart outward in order to look
beyond our self, to see who needs a welcome in our inner
space.
The
retreat will include conferences by Joyce Rupp, creative
ritual, quiet reflective times, and opportunities for
group dialogue. Silence that nourishes growth and deepens
wisdom will be honored and respected during this weekend.
